When to change the intake manifold gasket on 2005 Toyota Sienna?

Asked by Troy Jul 31, 2016 at 01:16 AM about the 2005 Toyota Sienna LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just changed the spark plugs on the 2005 Toyota Sienna and what a job
that was!  I see that on the upper intake manifold it has a red rubber
gasket.  Is it necessary to change this gasket?  the gasket looks to be in
good shape other than it seems flattened from the torque.  My thought is
that for $20 it is probably worth the investment.  I wondered if the gasket did
leak what problem would that present where it is fuel injected?

Leave it alone. If that gasket was leaking, the car would rough. If you think it has a problem.spray wd40.if the idle changes.then replace it.
