brake problem

Asked by Heth30 Jan 04, 2007 at 07:49 PM about the 2002 Toyota Sienna CE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am hearing a very quiet popping noise when I apply the brakes but not the entire time I am breaking.  What could it be?

Dear Heth30-- I would say you've got a loose brake pad. It is hard to diagnose anything without hearing it in person, but often one of the clips holding the pad on or the entire pad itself is loose. It isn't really a big deal expense-wise and I advise you have it looked at a mechanic before it does damage to other more expensive brake components. Good luck from Bovan.
