Help with error codes

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Check engine light came on tried jumping 2 pins at diagnostic port and tried to read with a scanner want communicate. Question can I jump the wires coming directly out of computer instead of replacing harness. Also need wiring diagram truck is 1993 Toyota 4x4 with 22re engine

Just do the self test count the flashing CEL light make sure you know which pin is TE2 at the correct diagnostic port. If you really want to get into checking the computer buy yourself an old Toyota BOB (break out box).

@ Auto_Centric...Uhhh, I am NOT old! @ Stuck4747.....I would refrain from jumpering any wiring unless you know what you are doing. Jumper the wrong thing an POOF, you will let all the blue electrical smoke out and that is a bad thing. Check the fuse to see if it is blown preventing communication between a scanner and your vehicle.
