Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I wanted to see if i need to add oil in my transmission but when i touched the grip it
shocked the hell out of me. I first thought it was the spark plugs so i got new ones with
wires but it stills does that.

Are you sure it wasn't static electricity? I don't know if that's even possible, but this is a new one on me. I assume the car was running checking the transmission fluid, but does it do it with car off? This is a real mystery that I really hope somebody has some ideas

OK- make sure the engine is grounded- there is an engine ground strap- make sure the positive wire from your battery is not frayed and touching the engine- this might occur down around the starter- make sure the negative ground from the battery is clean against the body or wherever- if there is no engine ground, put one on between the engine and the frame-

There you have it...I thought somebody would have a thought and fortunately for you Hamza jaminblues came to the rescue, a good man to be sure. He won't post guesses. Facts only. But may I add if there is already a ground from block to chassis, add another one with a bare copper strap
