An O/D warning light? Is that what you mean? Would you please describe exactly what the light looks like..red or yellow and does it some kind of icon or symbol? And the O/D off should be yellow letters that spell out O/D OFF.

I understand you can't sit and watch your computer and wait for an answer that may never come. PM me and remind me about this and I can be of assistance.

It means you have turned off the overdrive and your car runs only like a 3 speed automatic. You will notice a higher rpm when you drive faster like on the freeway...and you will of course use more gas. On the 1998 models there is a little button on the gearshifter to turn O/D on or off...not sure where it is on the 97 model. But for economy reasons I would turn it ON.

this is close to the problem I just had. the light came on although I didnt press the off button. I first notice the car's rpms went up. I pulled over and checked the transmission fluids and they were fine. I started the car and the light was out but drove about 30 yards and it came back on. At the next stop light, I restarted the car and the light was out and stayed out for the rest of my drive. Any suggestions to whats wrong?
