do toyotas, corrolas in particular, tend to have soft brakes?

I've had the master cylinder replaced and the brakes bled, but the brakes are still soft.  The brakes are practically new, but you have to push the peddle a ways down to get any response and then to the floor to get a full response.  I'm coming from a Ford contour.  Is this just  a trend of Toyota's or is there something wrong, ad if so... what?

I don't think there is anything wrong. Toyota brakes are usually pretty soft. You just have to get used to it, might take a while. I have a Toyota 4Runner and the brakes have a soft feel but they still stop my 4Runner really fast. You car is probably fine. :)

Thanks for responding. I actually just got a call like 15 minutes ago from the dealership service place and they said something about my right front caliper was slipping or something like that so my right brakes aren't even really working! I'm glad I took it in. Thanks for your help though:)
