Does the engine has in number on it or engrave?

Asked by DKDKDK Feb 01, 2007 at 03:51 PM about the 1996 Toyota Corolla DX

Question type: General

I bought a car yesterday. When i see my other  1990 Toyota camry, i saw engraving of " 16 valve" and "TOYOTA" . But the 1996 Toyota Corolla engine doesn.t have any engraving. Is that posible?

The engine will have an EID (engine identification number) stamped on it that should match the EID that is listed to the car. As far as all engines having the Toyota stamp I have seen a few where the stamp wasn't there, but for the most part it is.

You Corolla may not have a 16-valve engine. If memory serves me, the Corolla engine is a 12-valve unit.
