My toyota celica has a pump leak and i'm wondering if there is anyway to replace the pump without taking apart the engine. $700 im labor and parts.

You do have to go into timing,and remove belt,the pump is ran by the timing belt,the answer to your question is yes you have to go in to it,now that said,the price is not bad if they are replacing timing belt and idlers,and pump,but if they are just replacing pump,and no timing component,s, price should be around 350.

That year model i would replace timing component,s if they have to change pump any way,unless it has already been done before.
