Car got wet now car won’t lock!

Asked by Kriz Feb 24, 2020 at 02:08 PM about the 2001 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: General

Hello, I left my roof top open (slightly enough
to let water in) I didn’t think it would rain. So I
get into my car and everything is wet. Turn my
car on everything is fine but for some reason
the (open door lights) emblem is on. When I
closed all doors over 2-3 times, correctly of
course. still doesn’t turn off which never has
happened so maybe it happened Bc of the
rain. So I go to lock my door and now the
alarm goes off!
I need to find a way to counter this because
cars get broken into all the time where I live.

Something was probably shorted out by the rain of course . get it running and blast the heat . See how humid it gets .

Did that, seems perfectly normal from the last time I used it. Maybe the side of one of the doors are defected (sensors. not sure

With the engine runnig....any warning lights on or flashing? Suggest you have the various computers on this vehicle Scaned for trouble codes. Some auto parts stores will do this scan for FREE. Get back with results. Also...look inside the glove box....and...reach behind the back of said GB. Is all wet there?
