Normal Temperature Gauge Reading for my 2000 Toyota Camry

Question type: General

When my Camry has warmed up my temperature Gauge rests at nearly the half way mark
between  cold and overheating.Is this normal for this vehicle ? I just bought the car used.

you could gauge it with an oven thermometer if your not too familiar with machanics

If you had to verify if your car is running normal or hot. How would you verify it with external gauge? Can you measure the hose temperature with infrared thermometer? And temperature what should it be? or where else you would measure?
