Camry 2000 I4 CE - Radiator Fan MAY not be getting powered

I'm not 100% sure as it's not full-blown summer but my rad hose blew off
after I drove roughly and I'm thinking after I replaced the hose it's still
missing something. The AC fan on driver side of rad is gone after it fell
apart. I have not heard that rad fan on pass side kick on, I even switched it
over to the AC side, ran the AC, albiet it was cool, it still didn't kick on. The
fan works with external 12v power. It's ok now but I want to know if I can
rely on it when it heats up.

one fan is the primary cooling fan and will kick on when the car gets hot enough, the other is the secondary fan that kicks on when you are using the ac and the demand is greater. it would be wise to make sure both fans are in working order so the pcm can send the proper instructions.

You might consider replacing the fan that "fell apart"....then checking for any stored codes in the computer. Consider buying an inexpensive non contact thermometer for checking upper and lower Rad. Hoses while the engine is running. Get back to us with the results.
