98 Toyota camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Radiator, cap, hose, thermostat and thermostat sensor all replaced.
Pull wire off temp switch at bottom of radiator and both fans come on.
put A/C on with radiator sensor connected and no fans come on.
Car heats up and will over heat and still no fans.
Run with Radiator sensor disconnected and fans on. no over heating, even hold 2000
rpm.
this is a 4 cylinder.
What should I be looking at next.
PS all parts were changed when changing out cracked radiator. Sensor was a bad
assumption on my part.
Car overheated while getting smog check. Thats when radiator popped its tank..

Check to see if you have a short to ground in the wiring from the connector on the wires to the fuse block and pcm. But sounds like the coolant temp sensor on the radiator might be bad.

Test or replace the fan relays under the hood.

Pulled fan relays and played with them while car was running. Now all is working fine. Thank you.
