Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a used ECU from a salvage yard
has the same part number as my old ECU
would I need to be reprogram the salvaged
one with my Vin number ?

Not so well I bought a refurbished one and the engine light flickers off and on . I drove the car 75 miles and let it sit at idle for two hours for the engine to acclimate to the refurbished ECU maybe it's just time to buy a car

It might be helpful to know what codes are stored in this replacement computer. Some auto parts stores provide this service for free. What was the reason for replacing the Computer?
