Where do I find the engine temp sensor on my 1995 toyota camry?

Asked by misscreative Jan 14, 2014 at 12:44 PM about the 1995 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My temp guage keeps saying its hot while the radiator cap feels cool and the fans aren't
running. I looked at fuses and they appear ok, so i thought i'd try the sensor but don't
know where to look.

its usually on the side of the engine where coolent is going out. look for the side where engine and transmission is attached. first buy the part from the autozone and ask them if they have diagram (will make your life easier) the check for something similar sensor to the one you just bought. you will need to disconnect the sensor before you can take it out. and i believe 17mm deep sucket and wrench will do the job.
