Check engine light comes on was told that my evap vent control is the
problem is this right

do you know what the code is. They could other problems that cause EVAP codes. P0440. P0446. P0456 P0441. Are all codes for the EVAP system. If your code is leak related them you need to find the leak. That could a gas cap, fuel filler next, vacuum hose, vent control valve, charcoal canister, and a few other parts as well. You can find the leak with the aid of a smoke machine 4 psi of air pressure and a spray bottle of soapy water.
