1992 4Runner V6 4WD Transmission problem

Asked by pyyrroo Mar 31, 2008 at 07:50 PM about the 1992 Toyota 4Runner 4 Dr SR5 V6 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The A/T oil temp light keeps coming on, and the vehicle will not reverse in 2WD but will in 4WD. An' the light usually doesn't come on unless you go like 40 non stop miles.

I really don't know much about 4 wheel drives, so if anyone could give me a couple ideas to kick around about this thing I would be very appreciative.

If change the tires to a lager size like 33 or 35 the tranny will over heat the solution is go back to the original tires or re-gear the axels $$$$
