turbos? are they an upgrade option for this vehicle?

I have a 1990 toyota 4runner with 245xxx and i'm thinking about rebuilding the engine, and i was curious how many people have turbo charger the earlier models like the 1990's?

iv'e seen people put turbos on it but since they dont make a turbo kit for the 4runnner i think the best way to get more power is to swap in a supra 1jgte tt and u can add on from there

it would be a much bigger job to swap a supra engine than to find a shop to fab you a turbo manifold... i would look into super charging before turbo though. do you off-road with it?
