Impala transmission

Asked by GuruC49H5 Jan 30, 2019 at 11:10 AM about the 2006 Chevrolet Impala 3.5L LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I accidentally (rotated) (put out of place) the
ims lever that sits above the transmission,
and now my gears are in opposite order. I
lost Park gear and 1,2&3

I would suggest rotating it back the way it was... Sounds like you have improperly adjusted it.

Gary thank you for your response ! And excuse my ignorance but, by trying to readjust back into proper place, now my concearn is; will I permanently damage the transmission? Is that even a possibility ? Luckily i have another car identical that i can use to make sure i place back in the same direction but still a little nervous about it since its my daily driver.
