Fuse never blew before but now does, why?

My 2006 Chevrolet Impala was the most trouble-free car I ever owned. From the time I purchased it until the spring of 2015, I could:
1. Hook up my portable tire airing device which used the cigarette lighter terminal. I'd bring my tires up to the preferred pressure and even re-inflate my temporary spare.
2. Use an adapter that powered a mini-videocamera that also infrequently charged two cellphones.

I never had any problems in all those years. 2015, I took it to a dealer for regular service, nothing special. Oil change, scheduled trans service and A/C service for summer readiness. On leaving , I plugged in my adapter for the videocamera as usual and it didn't work. Went in and told teh service tech. He said I blew the fuse because the fuse was 10AM and couldn't handle the adapter. I told him from 2006 until now the same things I say above. I'd never had an issue with a blown fuse. he shrugged and got another 10AM fuse, opened the hood and installed it. However, I was blocked from seeing where he put it by another service person. Checking the under hood fuse all fuse amperages look to be correct. I can't locate that 10AMP fuse and it does seem the service tech was at the right side of the car not left side as you face it where the fuse box is. So why am I blowing a fuse I never did before? Is there a third fuse box I should look for?
