2000 Subaru setting timing belts

I am replacing the head gasket on
my Subaru and also the timing
belt and water pump I' don't know
how of shape  I'm I'm this is the
1st time doing this I didn't pre set
my timing belt before I took off
the belt every you tube video has
them pre set the belt what do I
need to do to not totally fuck my
engine off. I've got everything
back together expect the belts do
I just turn the cam pulleys the
specified markings or is there
much more to it

You should have preset things. I recommend that you get a repair manual for your car. Be careful because you risk bending valves if you start rotating the crank and cams independently of each other. I would not move the crank until you can get the cams in a position where all the valves are closed or mostly closed.
