Engine swap for 2000 Subaru outback 2.2 L

Asked by Waddles420 Dec 20, 2017 at 05:35 PM about the 2000 Subaru Outback Base Wagon

Question type: General

My engine has started to knock as I drive so im worried
that it is about to go out. My question is, how easy is it to
upgrade to 2.5 L? Will the wiring match up easily? And
would I have to worry about the transmission matching up?
My first time owning a Subaru so I'm not to sure about the
details.

Your 2000 should have a 2.5i already. Are you saying that the Base model first year had the old 2.2? In what country?
