water leak

Asked by Patti Feb 20, 2019 at 01:23 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 2006 Chevy Equinox is leaking somewhere, some how.  When we have a
lot of rain, I start to see it under the back seats. it will get damp all the way to
the back of the front seat. I can't figure this out.
Anyone have an idea? I have sat thru many a car wash and never saw anything
coming in.

Do you have a sunroof? That is most likely where it is coming in. If not, carefully check around all the windows. Is here any rust or bobbles around the window trim? Also check all the door seals for cracks or being flat.

yes there is a sunroof, no it does not leak. I plan to check the seals, although when I sit thru a car wash no leaking anywhere. it has to rain a lot to see it. and I check it often.
