2001 Subaru legacy outback

My 2001 Subaru legacy outback started making a
strange noice coming from the engine when I
started it up and was warming it up. It eventually
stopped when I was driving. Would it be an
expensive repair?

clicking or ringing sound. my girl use it and she said she hit a small cone at a drive thru.
