what make steering wheel shimmy shake at times shake hard with light knocking noise?

steering wheel shake & shimmer then all of sudden shake harder with a light
knocking noise then it stops & does it again?

Bent wheel, out of round tire, out of balance tire, alignment off, worn suspension and steering.
