2006 Chevy Cobalt Rapid Power Loss

Asked by ISeeNoises Dec 30, 2018 at 05:32 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I didn’t notice any loss of power or difficulty
shifting until 2 days before I lost power
completely. First, the shifter wouldn’t always
go from neutral to first, but shifting from
second to first was no problem. Then the
engine was reving high going uphill. By the
end of the second day I couldn’t get the car
up past 20km/h, and it smelt like fluid was
burning. Checked the fluid levels they’re all
fine. Now, I have no power whatsoever, I
think the clutch is shot.
