Octane is the measurement of the potential energy stored in an measure of fuel. The lower octane will not cause "damage" to your car, but will combust less completely, which will leave carbon deposits in your cylinders. Over time these will build up and create performance problems. If you fill with 95 once every 5 times you fill up, that would help reduce the carbon build-up and prolong the performance life of your car

Buying fuel with a higher octane than is required by your engine is a waste of money and there is NO benefit. If your vehicle requires premium fuel then use it, if it requires regular unleaded then save yourself some money and use that. Always try to use top tier fuel as it usually have the best additive package and this will help minimize deposits and keep the fuel system clean. If you want to use a fuel additive try Techron by Chevron about every 5,000 miles. Do some reading on top tier fuel at the link.....http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers/
