I got rims 17" and the person that I got it form gave
me 235 tires along with them will they fit my Subaru
Impreza outback 98

If they are the same bolt pattern I would try them out to see if they fit.

Depends upon the "offset", as you need clearance AND not screw up the camber too much. 235mm is simply a bit too much tire for the 98 Imp's 2.2 motor. I'd back down to 205mm max on 16" wheels for best handling, decent comfort and a bit lower noise too. The motor simply can't use the 235 tread. 235 is even a bit big for the larger Subie chassis (Leg OB) with the 2.5i. Maybe only with the newest H6 motor.
