Thoughts on a 03 Forester 2.5x automatic

Dealership is asking $3995 for it. Thoughts? Is
it worth it?

This was asked yesterday in another thread. If you follow Eds' advice be sure to use a very well-versed Subaru wrench...NOT a generalist who will only look at obvious basic stuff. Subarus are quirky, and usually do NOT die inexpensively!

Dunno. Subies are still selling strongly; yet Covid has hurt everybody. In semi-retirement I still sell young off-lease OBs near Boston, but they're hard to come by, and low mileage specimens are overpriced. When a mileage factor is overvalued ya know it's a skinny market. Obviously I spend more of my time helping others on these sites, as it's time to give back, so I find his posts have a marketing smell, eh? As long as there's modern ECM tech behind it they might be helpful, as all these Jap-made Fors and Imps are more problematic than Indiana-produced Legs and OBs, so let's hope they're white knights....
