I have a 1999 Subaru forester. I need rear stuts. What is the difference between the automatic and standard transmission. I can only find the complete strut assembly for the auto and not the manual.

Yeah I'm not sure why they do that. Rockauto does that too. Honestly, there are some discount pages in www.subaruforester.org, dealers and venders offer discounts on the site to members. I checked ebay for some ideas but it seems they don't offer the transmission type, just not automatic leveling. Do your rear struts have long cylinders connected to the actual strut body? If not, I would assume you could get whatever is available.
