Asked by Michael Apr 03, 2018 at 05:23 AM about the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car is leaking coolant underneath the water pump
is not the elbows I don’t believe is the pump but it’s
leaking more when car is sitting for a period of time
the bottom front passenger-side is soaked every
couple days I add coolant but the overflow stays
the same until yesterday it was empty.. when idling
fans never kick on and it doesn’t get hot enough
but when I’m in traffic it gets hot a little past half
way in the gage! I’m lost and could use some help
would like to show a video but don’t know how

Would that cause it to drip on the inside of the serpentine and spray the coolant all over that side of the motor, battery, etc. when car is running? And would it make any noise when started or while running? Is it an easy fix?

Yes it would. Sounds like the water pump to me. When you said coolant on the front passenger side, you meant outside the car, right? If you didn't and its inside the passenger compartment then its likely the heater core. Not sure from your post.

I don’t think it’s: I thought it was because it smelled like coolant but digging deeper seems to be power steering fluid’s and the power steering pulley seems a little wobbly as well

Does this look about same as your problem right behind the lower radiator hose that goes to block?
