Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Grand Prix I Recently had the
code p2138 knowing it’s the gas pedal so I
replaced the pedal and nothing happened no
rev or nothing then I put the old one back on
and it works fine why don’t it work with the
old one and not the new

The problem is more with the throttle position sensor on the engine than the gas pedal. I might be wrong but I don't think it really makes any difference between a new or old gas pedal
