Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery died i got a new battery and it started
right up 3 days later my 04 grand prix gt wont start
and the inside car light wont even come on when i
open the door. I got a jump and it was alright. I cut
it off and on after i drove it for about 5 miles, it had
no problems. I tried to start it the next day and had
no power at all. I got the alternator check while car
was running at auto zone and it checked out good.
I dont no much about cars and dont have a clue
why my car wont hold a charge. Please help.

Only way to find out is a parasitic draw test. That testing can be done with a inexpensive meter if you care to do so. Still would not rule out the alternator. Could be a internal diode issue there. Would at least make sure your ground wire and other connections are clean and secure. Good Luck!

Either your alternator is not supplying a charge to your battery or, as "Brian" said, something in the car is drawing power even when the car is off (like a glove box light or trunk light). Hope the You Tube video works for you.

Why are you checking your spark plugs? I thought it was a dead battery problem. It's not your alternator. If the battery goes dead while the car is parked, something is on in the car that is draining it. Probably an interior light or park lights on. Shut the car off, give it a few minutes for the lights to go off like they are supposed to and then go around the car and look in the windows to see if there's an interior light staying on.

5V pressure sensor I'm guessing this is most of Us Grand Prix owners issue...Only learning as I go not a mechanic by any means, but keeping her (CALI) on the road. But I've had the same issue, this round anyhow... not saying this is your problem but after reading up on them seems to be the control for all or most computer activity once again not a mechanic. Hope this helps some one. Good luck with the GP's out there.
