I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and lost the only key.

Asked by grojas4299 Oct 29, 2015 at 01:09 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT1

Question type: General

I went to the GM dealer and they cut a key with the car's VIN. The new keys won't open the doors or turn in the ignition. Help??? I have a remote starter but it does not help because as soon as i press the brakes, it turns off. Is this a problem with keys being cut wrong?

Read your owners manual to see if there is a procedure for activating the system with the new keys. If you can't figure it out your dealer should be able to give you some guidance.
