how do I find the mass airflow sensor on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am 2.2 liter

it won't idle more than 1000 rpmif I tried to
step on the gas it dies right away

are you throwing a MAF code? the maf is between the air filter and the throttle body in the air intake tube. test idle air control valve and throttle position sensor.
