Heat core panel removal

So my car sat for a long time and I got it
running again. There was mice in it. The ac
works and blows hard but the heater barely
blows any air out. My stepdad believes there
may be a mouse nest in front of the heat core,
so to check this does anybody know how the
take off the panel underneath the dash behind
the center console without taking the whole
dash out?

If it's like my 2000 Grand Prix the center console must come out. Then you can get to the outer heater core cover, then the inner heater core cover. The outer cover is a real bugger to get out! Once you get the screws out it must be twisted and turned then pulled very hard downward to get it out. Getting it back in is just as difficult!! I'd suggest replacing the heater core even if there's nothing wrong with it. You don't want to have to do this job again!! Hope that helps! Jim
