Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Where is the starter located on 2004
Mercury Grand Marquis GS V8?

1 Answer

180

It will always be between the engine and tranny. Once engaged it extends and grabs the teeth of the flywheel/flexplate. Turns the engine enough to start it. Disengage retracts back inside the starters body.
