special tools needed to remove O2 sensors 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis

I have 2 new oxygen sensors, but cannot figure out how to remove the old
sensors, upstream of cat converter. Do I need an offset ratchet - wrench, ie is
there a special tool that is needed?

On my '93 I bought the tools, still wasn't room because of the firewall,standing there with the new sensor in my hand, I slapped my forehead, grabbed an iron bar and a big hammer, and broke the ceramic top off the old sensor. Then a conventional 1/2 drive socket, one inch, or whatever, fit, and I got that puppy off! Kinda used the new tool to get the new one on, but that's easy.
The issue really is how does FordMoCo say the oxygen sensors are to be replaced, or the known method used by certified auto mechanics. Can it even be done without the car on a lift, ie on jack stands. I have the recommended tools now but access still looks very difficult. For example I am wondering if removing the wheels and liners is needed for access. I have not found a video that actually shows replacement on a Marquis or Crown Victoria.
Tom, Good input. Certified shop wants 375.00 L&M to replace these 2 O2 sensors. I bought Bosch replacments for 44.00 each, the tool kit for 25.00. I must install these myself. So I will use jack stands.
