why does my car not get any fuel and blows the fuel pump fuse?

I have a 98 Grand Marquis put brand new fuel pump in it
and still it blows the fuse every time I turn it on please
help

Check the wiring, a fuse blowing means there is a short on that circuit.

It could be: 1. Incorrect wiring at fuel pump 2. Short at inertial shut off valve in trunk. 3. Wiring touching frame or body somewhere. 4. corrosion at fuel pump relay, or relay defective. 5. Defective pump, or wiring going to it in tank.
