What would cause gas to get into my radiator reservoir on 95 mercury grand marquis?

I had  severe oil leak and had oil filter
housing gasket and valve cover
gaskets replaced. During this, I found
out that one lifter was messed u0 and
a rod was stuck. The mechanic fixed
those issues. Apparently he knew due
to the smell the car ran hot. Even
though the gauges never read above
normal. Also, the radiator hose was
clogged so he unclogged that. I was
checking the fluid again before leaving
to town, the radiator reservoir showed
low. When I opened it to add coolant,
theres greenish gunk in the bottom
and i got some out, and it smells
horribly of gas. What do I do now!?.....

I suspect you have a bad head gasket or a cracked head which is allowing oil to get in the coolant.

I suspect you have a bad head gasket or a cracked head which is allowing oil to get in the coolant. What was the radiator hose clogged with? At the very least you need to flush the cooling system and install new coolant but if you have oil in the radiator then you have a serious problem that a flush won't fix.
