car hesitates at take off like the detention wire needs adjusting but don't know if its
electrical or what

That car has a 5.0L SPFI Single Port Throttle Body Fuel injection with mechanical linkage. Electronic Drive-By-wire throttle was not until much later 2005 ---if that's what you mean by detention wire....?
