why did my car seem to sink to the ground

It has air suspension in the rear and the air has leaked out. If it will not raise itself with the engine running look in the trunk on the driver's side to see if the air suspension system is turned on. If it is turned on there may be an issue with the air compressor which is located under the air cleaner filter housing.
