I have a 2001 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series. When the ac is first turned on it blows warm air, but after about a minute you can feel the air turn cooler and then it will get cold. What could be causing this?

All do this when it is first turned on and it is hot outside. How long are we talking? Are you drawing in air from outside or recirculating? Open windows first to get 130 degree air out of cabin and use outside air instead of cabin air due to it being cooler. If you are talking 5+ minutes it could be something as simple as low charge or too much moisture in system or air in system. Could be low performance due to these simple fixes. Have it vacuumed down replace accumulator and recharge with correct lbs of refrigerant. A check with gauges can determine a lot on AC systems.
