You don't fix a heater core these days for how cheap they are, which is about $60, you should replace them since you don't want to replace it again after going through all the work. On a Lincoln town car you have to remove the dash to access and evacuate and disconnect the AC lines. It's a big job, a full days worth of work and that is why auto garages will charge you $1000 to do it, it's all labor. I would think twice about dumping that kind of money into a car as old as yours. You have to ask yourself, do you want to drive it a few more years?
