Cooling fan

Asked by Teia Jan 28, 2019 at 01:58 PM about the 1998 Lincoln Town Car Executive

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My cooling fan won’t work on it’s on unless it is
jumpstarted or hotwired to my battery. A mechanic
also took my temperature gauge out everything is
fine as long as it’s this way. What could be the
problem? What part do I need?

Begin by turning the AC system on MAX cooling fan should energized. If it turns on, check the low speed relay. A bad 30amp fuse to the low speed relay. Bad connection anywhere? could be a bad 2 wire coolant sensor. There two different sensors for temp a one wire and a two wire. You are just going to have to go through them one at a time. Find a real mechanic.
