does the 1997 audi a4 have a chip in the key,immobilizer?after having the head gasket changed can the ignition key get un programmed?

it shouldn't have one. i dont think the early b5s had the immobilizer. to find out, you can open up your key and see if there's a little rice like thing in there. that is the immobilizer. but either way.. it doesnt get reprogrammed. you should still be able to start the car. i would look into something else.
