My 2004 jeep grand charokee limited 4.7 is overheating
So my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee is over
heating my fan turns on and it's really loud
it vibrates the hole jeep as soon as that
happen the tempitur ski rockets what can I
do to fix it
Try changing out the thermostat. Sounds like the thermostat is stuck.
The fan should not be making all that racket. Take a look and you may see why it is also not cooling the radiator, allowing engine to overheat. I also saw that the 4.7 has a water pump with plastic, not metal, blades. Over time, they crumble and disintegrate until they're gone. Just be careful not to overheat this engine which has aluminum heads. Aluminum warps and cracks easily. Hope this helps.
Yes Hornet is correct. The problem sounds like it is in the fans if there vibrating, and can cause overheating at an idle.
