The 4 wheel drive light stays on even when placed in 2 wheel drive

I did pull and test the actuator SELECTOR, on the crank case, and it seemed to work perfectly. No, this is NOT a full time 4 wheel drive, I have part time, full time and low. They are all working flawlessly. The light on the console just keeps drawing my attention. Tape over it right now. Out of sight, out of mind sort of thing.
