2004 won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee that will not
start. What should I look for? I've recently had
problems with it just shutting down. I would start it
right back up and it would be fine. Now it won't
even kick over. I don't see any spark plugs and on
the engine? Please help

Your spark plugs will be under the coil bar (three or four bolts) on the right hand side of the engine....on the 4.0 liter six engine. Scan for codes. Turn the key from off to on three times, quickly, without starting the engine. Stop at "On". The codes will show on the odometer display. It will show "done" when it's done. If you see code 0320, that crank shaft position sensor, a common failure on this engine, will be no spark, tachometer reading drop quickly while it stalls. It may runs again after it cools off.
