01Jeep Grand Cherokee drains battery

My Jeep drains the new battery after a few
days. There is a large sparks when I touch
the battery cable to the battery (pos or
neg). I heard a clunk at the same time then
noticed the rad fan tries to turn a bit too. I
unplugged the fan wiring and checked
voltage to the fan, it was battery
voltage(12v). I think it may be the fan relay
but not sure. They are not cheap so I want
to be sure before buying a new relay. One
thing the fan does work when the engine
temp gets to 100C

If you have a digital volt meter you take the neg. off of the battery and connect the volt meter between the neg. cable and the post on the battery. Neg. lead on the battery post. ( series hook-up) Have the volt meter set to amperage or voltage and start pulling fuses, plugins, to see when the voltage goes down. Then you have isolated the circuit to work on. When you are done there should be less that 50um / micro-amp. draw on the system.
