2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 L6 Running hot driving idles at normal temp

Asked by theperminator Aug 24, 2016 at 07:56 PM about the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 L6 Runs fine at an idle all day. When I drive down the road I can make it about 5-30 miles before it gets to hot to drive. As soon as I slow down to an idle the temp comes back down to normal. I have changed the radiator cap and now the thermostat. I wondering if it could be the water pump? any ideas where to start?
